Covid-19 Related Policies

Sweet Water is in compliance with Key to New York mandates.

Here is what we are doing to keep you safe, and help you stay resilient.

Covid-19 has forever changed our world and how we move through it. And like good yogis, we at Sweet Water are bending so we don’t break. We are taking all available steps to ensure you stay safe while you strengthen your immunity and resilience with our services. Some of the changes we’ve made are temporary, pending scientific breakthroughs in preventing Covid-19 related deaths, and some are here to stay as good general practices.

Our ONLINE OFFERINGS are here to stay so we can continue to support those of you who, because of health conditions or time constraints, are unable to attend classes in person.

Our in person CUSTOMER SERVICE is on hiatus for the time being. Have questions about any of our offerings, or need more in-depth customer service support? Call us at 718-992-2484 Monday through Friday, from 10A - 7:30P. Our staff will keep on delivering our top notch customer service from a safe, social distance.

Here is what you will need to know as you make your plans to come back through our Orange Door:

Before you come in.

REGISTER IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR CLASS. Be sure to register for your classes in advance by going online on our website, using our APP, the MindBody APP or by calling the studio in advance.

We can no longer register you at the front desk. Only registered students will be admitted to the studio. We are unable to provide in person customer service at this time.

SELF ASSESSMENT. Before heading out, check how you feel? Do you have a fever? Are you feeling fatigued or short-winded? Take our quick SELF ASSESSMENT QUIZ to make sure you are ok to come in. You will be required to complete a WELLNESS SCREENING upon check in and submit to a temperature scan to check for a fever.

BRING YOUR OWN PROPS. To avoid rental fees, please bring your own mats, blocks, straps, knee pads and any other equipment you might need. Otherwise, you can trust that we will properly sterilize all rented equipment between uses..

ARRIVE ON TIME. Our new check in procedure will be quick, easy and socially distant. But you must arrive on-time! Studio doors will open 15 minutes in advance of scheduled class start time for CHECK IN ONLY. You will line up in the stairwell, and await CHECK IN to begin 10 minutes in advance of class, and no one will be admitted more than FIVE MINUTES LATE. Studio doors will remain locked until the next class lines up for check in.

FACE MASKS ON! Face masks are required for admission. State mandates require face masks that close around both nose and mouth at all times. Gaiters, bandanas or scarves are not allowed. You will not be allowed to take class with anything other than a proper mask.

Checking in.

ARRIVE ON TIME FOR OUR NEW CHECK IN PROCEDURE. You will be checked in no more than 10 mins before your class. Admission requires masks, temperature checks and wellness screenings.

TEMPERATURE CHECK. Before checking in, you will be required to submit to a temperature scan. If you register a temperature above 99.8 degrees Fahrenheit you will be asked to return when your temperature is within healthy range. “But I feel FINE!” We are glad! But take your class online until you can register a healthy temperature.

WELLNESS SCREENING. As part of our new check-in procedure, you will be required to complete a Wellness Screening and Contact Tracing form before each and every class. The Wellness Screening Form will ask you the following questions:

  1. Have you experienced any of the following symptoms in the past 48 hours: Fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea.

  2. Have you been in contact with anyone in the last 14 days who is experiencing these symptoms?

  3. Have you been in contact with anyone who has since tested positive for Covid-19?

  4. Have you returned from traveling abroad in the last 14 days?

CONTACT TRACING. Contact tracing requires your mobile telephone number, home address and best email (the one you check every day).

While in the studio.

WASH YOUR HANDS as soon as you are checked in, then proceed to your class with your belongings. Please note that dressing rooms and showers are closed until further notice.

PICK A SPOT ANY SPOT. After washing your hands, please go to your room and pick an available spot. Spots will be marked indicating where mats and personal belongings must be placed in the designated space. Instructors will confirm that mats and belongings are properly placed.

DURING YOUR CLASS stay on your mat, and in your area. DO NOT REMOVE YOUR MASK. We understand it’s an inconvenience. It is also our current reality, and the only way we can be available for you. If you are unable to keep your mask over both your nose and mouth, we invite you to enjoy our virtual offerings from home.

After your class.

STAY IN TOUCH. We are participating in Contact Tracing.

IF YOU BECOME ILL: If after taking one of our classes you contract Covid-19, let us know immediately so we can cooperate with Contact Tracing efforts by the CDC and the City and State of New York.

IF A CLASSMATE OR STAFF MEMBER BECOMES ILL: If we are notified that a classmate is later confirmed to have contracted Covid-19, you will be notified and given proper instruction.

What else?

CLASS SIZE REDUCTIONS: Our classes are running at a 30% or less capacity. Pole classes have a maximum of 5 students and all other classes have an 8 person maximum, unless otherwise stated.

STUDIO EQUIPMENT: Shared use of props is a thing of the past. Studio props must now be sanitize between uses, and are no longer available for free in the rooms. This includes mats, blocks and straps that were previously available in the rooms for free.   Studio equipment can be rented at the front desk. To avoid rental fees, please bring your own mats, blocks, straps and any other equipment you might need. Otherwise, you can rent our equipment and trust that we will properly sterilize all rented equipment before renting it to you.

AIR QUALITY AND VENTILATION UPGRADES: Our 14 foot ceilings have always inspired you to breath deeply. And now you can can breath even easier knowing that we have leveled up our air quality with top of the line air purifiers, fans and air conditioning system. To further ensure air quality, we will be keeping our windows open from the top to allow fresh air to circulate within our walls.

CLEANING MEASURES: We have upgraded our cleaning procedures. Frequently touched surfaces will be cleaned continuously throughout the day using EPA approved cleaning products.

COMMON AREAS: We have removed any studio seating or lounging areas and reassigned these spaces. We will definitely miss the tea being spilled in the Gallery North, but we also want to stay open and keep you safe. Let’s spill tea outdoors or online until we can get together again.
